Responsibilities: Assists in creative leadership, direction, and project management across all visual design projects. This position manages activities and oversees the coordination of visuals for marketing campaigns, visual identity systems, student recruitment, WVU Magazine, other School and College magazines, multimedia, and general University brand initiatives and standards. The AD is responsible for the oversight of creative visual strategies, visual solutions, layout/designs, and visual campaigns that engage and influence targeted audiences as it relates to the overall University Relations marketing strategies, student recruitments, the University’s mission and strategic plan. Serves as a source of expertise and support to colleagues and constituencies across the university community and aids in the implementation of visual communications, marketing, brand strategies, capital campaigns, etc. Oversees a creative team of designers, multimedia specialists, and interns. Serves as advisor and creative resource for team projects for news, video, web, social media, infostations, mobile, etc. Collaborates and trains key communicators, designers, and technology specialists across campuses to ensure each unite adheres to established visual style sheets, templates, and guidelines on projects. Develops estimates, prepares bids and RFP for production of projects. Oversees time management and billing for departmental projects. Works with others to conduct market research to develop new messages and imagery that coordinate with official messaging and communication goals of WVU. Tests materials/activities with target audiences and adjusts based on quantitative and qualitative data collected.

These tours feature 7 different neighborhoods and was launched on April 20, 2006 with the collaboration of the following clients: Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development, Greater Pittsburgh Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, as well as development corporations from each of the seven different neighborhoods.
